Built in the 1920’s by Miles Kellogg in Encinitas, CA, the SS Moon and SS Encinitas are a couple blocks from the beach. Assisted by his young son who helped every day after school, Mr. Kellogg built these apartments from scrap lumber that was too short for standard ceiling heights. A popular “drive-by” site, these may be the most photographed buildings in this beach town today.
